Karl Marx and Friedrich EngelsFriedrich Engels (left) and Karl Marx (more left) were the fathers of Marxism. They were philosophers during the 1800's who both shared ideas on political economy. Together they developed their ideas and spread them through documents and pamphlets. They were constantly exiled from the country of which they were working in because of their ideas. They were deported from France and went to Belgium, then they returned to Brussels where they were soon deported once more back to Belgium, they began writing a now famous Communist Manifesto when they were then deported from Belgium to Cologne, and finally they were deported from Cologne to London. Their ideas got them in a lot of trouble in their time, but what was this idea of Marxism that everyone was so up in arms about?
